Description
Neurodiversity means that you think or act differently to the perceived societal norms. The definition of neurodivergent is ‘someone who is differing in mental or neurological function from what is considered typical or normal.’ This can encompass autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia and many other diagnoses.
As you can see from that definition, those who are neurodiverse are sometimes perceived as abnormal. This means they can often face stigma, discrimination, and a lack of understanding. However, it is important that we make the effort to recognise the value that neurodiverse individuals can bring to the workforce.
If you haven’t already, take a look at our Understanding Neurodiversity online course. This is a good starting point as it will teach you the basics of neurodivergence and how to be more inclusive, whilst this e-learning course will focus on how to embrace neurodiversity and get the best from your neurodivergent employees.
The Embracing Neurodiversity course contains four modules which are:
- The Importance of Embracing Neurodiversity
